What Movie Board does

Movie Board takes one still image as the starting frame, applies a director's style preset (cinematic wide, intimate close-up, energetic action, dreamy slow motion, etc.), and renders a 15-second 1080p video clip using Seedance 2 Pro as the image-to-video engine. The output is one continuous take — no clip-stitching, no concat artifacts.

This is the same workflow Higgs Field built $100M+ ARR on, surfaced as a single button.

Why Seedance 2 Pro

Among the i2v models on the market in 2026 — Kling 3.0, Wan 2.6, Veo 3, Sora 2, LTX — Seedance 2 Pro hits the sweet spot for short-form social video:

  • 1080p native, no upscaling required
  • Cinematic motion vocabulary — recognizes "slow push-in", "dolly out", "handheld", "drone pull-up" as actual camera moves
  • Strong character coherence — face stays the same across the 15 seconds
  • Fast — ~45 seconds per clip vs 2-3 minutes for Veo 3
  • Cost — Around 40 credits ($0.30) per clip vs $1+ for premium tier video models

Step 1 — Start with a still

Movie Board needs one starting frame. Options:

  • Generate one in Premium Studio and hit the "Animate" handoff button
  • Upload your own photo
  • Pick one from your gallery

21:9 cinematic aspect ratios work best — Seedance 2 Pro is trained on movie-aspect material. If your still is 1:1 or 4:5, the model has to letterbox internally and the result feels less cinematic.

Step 2 — Pick a director preset

The 4 presets are:

  • Cinematic Wide — slow push-in, atmospheric, golden hour vibe. Good for landscapes, hero shots, opening sequences.
  • Intimate Close-up — subtle facial motion, slow zoom, breathing. Good for portraits, talking heads, character moments.
  • Energetic Action — handheld feel, quick movement, dynamic camera. Good for sports, dance, fast-paced scenes.
  • Dreamy Slow-mo — water droplets, hair, slow-motion micro-detail. Good for fashion, food, product reveals.

Each preset auto-fills a motion prompt template. You can edit it before generating.

Step 3 — Write the motion prompt

The single most common mistake: describing the SCENE again instead of the MOTION. The image already shows the scene — Seedance 2 Pro can see it. Your motion prompt should tell it what should happen.

Good:

  • camera slowly pushes in toward subject, gentle breeze moves her hair, ambient breathing
  • woman lifts coffee cup to lips, steam rises and curls upward, smile widens slightly
  • handheld camera follows runner from behind, mud splashing under feet, motion blur in foreground

Bad:

  • a beautiful woman in a Tokyo cafe sitting by the window ← that's a scene description, the image already shows this

Step 4 — Add BGM and export

After the clip generates, Movie Board offers:

  • BGM mix — pick from royalty-free tracks or upload your own. The server-side ffmpeg muxes audio at the right level (-14 LUFS for streaming).
  • 9:16 / 1:1 / 16:9 export — TikTok, Instagram square, YouTube wide. Crop logic is content-aware, not naive center-crop.
  • Watermark toggle — keep "Made with EGAKU AI" on free / Lite, removable on Basic+.

The final video is downloadable, shareable, and auto-saves to your gallery + showcase pool.

Cost and plan

Each Movie Board clip runs about 40 credits ($0.30). The starting still uses additional credits depending on the image model (Flux Dev = free, GPT Image 2 = 10 credits, etc.). Plans: Basic ¥980/mo for 500 credits = ~12 clips/month, Pro ¥2,980/mo for 2,000 credits = ~50 clips/month. See pricing →
